Eric Berry is a Joshua Tree-based documentary and street photographer with a passion for capturing human stories through the lens. A native of LA, Eric’s journey into photography began at Howard University, where he studied cinematography and anthropology. This unique combination ignited his love for travel photography and fueled his desire to document the diverse experiences and cultures of people around the world.
At 41, Eric has traveled to over 50 countries and 43 states, photographing everything from Syrian refugees in Hungary to tribal communities in Ethiopia’s Omo Valley. His work emphasizes human connection, highlighting the beauty of everyday life and the rich stories of the people he encounters. In addition to his travels, Eric is a proud father of at least one budding photography enthusiast, continuing his love for the craft at home in Joshua Tree.
Eric’s photography has been featured by major outlets including CNN, NBC, AfroPunk, the LA Times, and Atlas Obscura. He has also collaborated with brands like UpRoxx, Greyhound, and Toyota. Currently, he serves as the editor of TravelCoterie, where he continues to explore new ways of connecting people through travel and imagery.
